P-40 Warhawks of the
461st Bombardment Group (H)



At least two P-40Fs were... 'acquired'... by the 461st BG 'Liberaiders', mainly for use in group and squadron assembly duties.
They were undoubtedly used for more recreational purposes as well...

This particular ship came to be known as 'Big G' in honor of the 461st BG CO, Colonel Frederick Glantzberg.
Colonel Glantzberg can be seen in the second photo below...
